Last weekend June 24th, 2007 my friend and I had the chance to see the Tokyo Guitar Show which was held at the TFT Building near Tokyo Big Sight.
We came around 12:30 in the afternoon and from the photo above you’ll able to see the information desk, and also the mini-raffle they have with the major price of Squier Telecaster Guitar! Unfortunately, only people who filled-up the survey form online from the sponsor’s website would only be able participate.
So instead we headed inside the Exhibition and Sale where most of the guitars are displayed. And wow! Plenty of cool (and some vintage) guitars ranging from Paul Reed Smith (PRS), Fender, Squier, Zemaitis, etc. that are being exhibited. I really can’t get off my eyes with PRS guitars, I love them!
Taking pictures inside the exhibition were allowed so all I did was point-and-shoot. Uhm, ok I guess not all... there are some booth that prohibit taking pictures, mostly the vintage ones but no big deal, I’ve collected good amount of pictures which will I post later to Flickr!. I’ll post the link here later.
Okay, so after the guitar exhibit, my friend and I went to the Elixir booth - makers of guitar strings. They have some of these laptops connected into microscopes which magnifies the string’s material. The image is not really that clear but you’ll able to see the string’s metal if you look carefully at the laptop’s screen.
This is a continuation of my previous post in Neil Zaza - I’m Alright Cover by Yoeru guitar video. During that recording as I had mentioned that I’ve used Amplitube 2 as Virtual Studio Technology setting or VST for short. In Sonar, VST’s are like plugins that you just hook them up by the plugin manager and then load the Amplitube’s VST. When it’s loaded next thing to do is apply the current patch settings (as shown in the image below, full image is also provided at the end of this article) in the currently selected audio track, which is in my case the recorded guitar track.
MP3 downloads on this site is now available and can be access at Guitar Videos and MP3s section. I uploaded the MP3 version of my recent covered song Neil Zaza - I’m Alright so please check it out.
A friend of mine who owns this site www.knicks49.com invited me to join the viral tag chain. More info of this ViralTag would be found on his page so you may want to visit it and read it carefully.
For the mean time I’ll try to experiment with the viraltag chain. It’s all about collaboration so let us help each other to build links with one another. The viral matrix tag goes below:
========= Copy and Paste below this line ==========
Instructions:
1.) Copy and paste the matrix of “ViralTags” below courtesy of Founders Cafe (to support Jimmy’s quest of launching his own Internet Startup with a shoestring budget, please consider subscribing to his Full RSS Feed to see his triumps and struggles in real time).
2.) Substitute the Host Tag and one of the “Viral Tags” in the matrix with your anchor text of choice with your blog’s URL. Please keep anchor text to a max of 3 words to keep the matrix size manageable.
3.) When you get a ping back from someone that has your link in one of their “Viral Tags”, practice good karma by copying his/her Host Tag’s anchor text (automatically the associated link will also be copied) and paste it over one of your “Viral Tags” below.
4.) Encourage and invite your readers to do the same and soon this can grow virally.
Important: Once I get a ping back from you, I will add your anchor text and the associated link you designate as “Host Tag” here, replacing one of the “ViralTags” from the matrix above. As more and more bloggers copy and paste this matrix, the more backlinks you will have with your anchor text. If everybody who copy and paste from your blog does the same, pretty soon this will spread and go viral. So, the sooner you participate, the more links with anchor text you will receive.

New guitar music video is now up and running at my account in YouTube. The title of the song is I’m Alright which is originally performed by Neil Zaza. I have posted the video here:
This recording is my first attempt to use SONAR sound editing software to mix my guitar tracks and also use Amplitube as VST plugin for the amp simulation and effects. The gears used in this recording are the following:
Sales of CDs by pop group ZARD have risen sharply almost across the board since the May 27 death of lead singer Izumi Sakai, according to Oricon Co., which specializes in music rankings.
Since Sakai’s abrupt death of a brain contusion at age 40, about 10,000 fans have visited special tables set up by her agent at its offices in Tokyo and Osaka to dedicate flowers, agent officials said.
39 guitarists from Japan made a video of the popular Canon Rock arranged by JerryC. Each guitarists played a part of the song and SupaSupa-san (another guitarist player) edited the video as one.
After few research and readings here are some basic checklist a Digital Audio Workstation might have:
PC - that should be a dedicated computer for recording audio. It is advisable to have a separate computer for doing other applications such as internet surfing, word processing, anti-virus etc. Why? Because some of it might interfere during recording. Audio “drivers”, which is basically the interface or gateway between your recording hardware and software might affect its stability if used with a PC with different applications. One more concern is the memory usage that we would want to fully maximized for audio recording.
